This painting was inspired by stories I read about how crows have been known to bring gifts to people who have shown them kindness.
I thought about what sorts of treasures they might find to gift people, and also used items they have been known to bring.
One of these is the branch with the poptop attached; some baby crows had fallen out of a nest and a man was able to put them back in. Afterwards, the parent crows began bringing him these little branches as a thank you?
